This is the time of year for colds, flu, and other illnesses. As we continue through this season, here is another message from our school nurses:
Please be advised that Influenza A and B, as well as Strep, continue to hit the district. We have sent numerous students home with flu-like symptoms and fevers. It is imperative that students remain home if they are ill. Students need to be symptom and fever free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medications before they can return to school.
Fever is considered 100F or greater. Please note that students should also feel well enough to participate in normal activities before resuming school.
If your child misses 3 or more days of school, we ask that you send a doctor's note in as soon as you're able to. (K.S.A. 72-3121).
Symptoms noted are persistent coughing, sneezing, body aches, chills, fever, sore throat, headache, nasal congestion and drainage, dizziness, lightheadedness, weakness, fatigue, nausea.
Some students have had only a few minor symptoms and have still tested positive for Influenza.
Your help is important and greatly appreciated in preventing further spreading of these illnesses.
Quick Tip: Spring Break is an excellent time to wash and/or sanitize the backpacks so the kids don't bring any of the germs home with them and they can enjoy their break in its entirety! ☀️ Our teachers and buildings crews will continue to do the same within the walls while we anxiously wait our little friends to return from their well-deserved break!

Today, our State Champion Wrestling Team took a break from the mats to spread some early morning joy at our elementary school! Witnessing the little ones' faces light up as they received high fives and knuckle bumps from these incredible athletes was pure magic.
Not only are they champions on the mat, but they are also role models inspiring the next generation of warriors. Kudos to our wrestlers for showing that success, sportsmanship, and community spirit go hand in hand! #RocketPride🚀
