We’ve received some calls from families wondering why textbook enrollment fees are still showing on their account even though they’ve been approved for free or reduced fees.

Please know that this is a normal part of the process - fee waivers are not applied immediately upon approval. Our Food Service Director is currently working hard to finalize menus and prepare our kitchens for the start of school, and we appreciate your patience as we work through these beginning-of-the-year tasks.

Rest assured: no late fees will be assessed while we finalize these updates. We kindly ask families to hang tight and allow a little time for everything to be processed. Thank you for your understanding and support as we kick off a great school year!

Notification from Rose Hill Public Schools -- food service fees for free families will be waived but not immediately upon approval.

As part of required security updates following last year’s PowerSchool data breach, we were required to reset all student Gmail passwords (grades 6–12). These Gmail accounts are used to log into PowerSchool, so students will not be able to access PowerSchool until they receive their new passwords.

New login credentials will be distributed during the first week of school.

If students need to view their schedules before then, they can do so through the Parent PowerSchool Portal.

Thank you for your understanding as we continue to prioritize student safety and data security.

New This Year at Rose Hill: Student ID Activity Pass for 6-12 graders
Beginning this school year, all Rose Hill students in grades 6-12 will have their photos taken during the first two weeks of school for Student ID cards. These ID cards will be available for a one-time fee of $25 and will grant students free admission to all middle and high school home activities, with the exception of dances and KSHSAA-sponsored competitions. This includes events at both schools - so middle school students can attend high school events for free, and vice versa.

To gain entry, students must present their Student ID card. If a student does not have an ID card, regular admission fees will apply. Replacement cards will be available for $5.

Why This Change?
As a district, we want to ensure that cost is never a barrier for our students to participate in and enjoy school events. In previous years, many students spent upwards of $100 annually just to attend a few activities. This new program significantly reduces that cost and encourages greater student involvement.

If you choose not to purchase the Student ID card, that’s completely fine, your student can still attend events by paying regular admission and will not receive an ID card.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
We wanted to share a quick update about the enrollment status of our current out-of-district students.

If your student attended Rose Hill Schools as an out-of-district student for the 2024-2025 school year, they’re all set to continue for the 2025-2026 school year. No need to reapply for an out-of-district waiver! Enrollment will start towards the end of July in PowerSchool so watch for that. The only exception would be if there were significant behavioral issues this last school year.

In the rare case that a student isn't approved to return, their building principal would have already reached out to let the family know. So if you haven’t received a call, you can consider your student approved for next year. Please note, however, that enrollment status is subject to change if significant concerns arise or if new information is brought to our attention before the start of the school year. In such cases, a building principal will reach out to communicate directly with you.

If you have any questions about your child’s enrollment, feel free to contact their building principal or reach out to the district office.

Thanks for being a valued part of the Rose Hill Schools community! We’re looking forward to a great year ahead!

Clear the List VENMO
We’re starting to receive questions about school supplies, so here’s what you need to know: 𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗬 & 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗠𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗦𝗧𝗨𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦 School supplies will be provided to students through an upcoming Clear the List Campaign! Allow us to take the school supply shopping stress away so that you can focus on making sure our youngest Rockets are fueled up and ready for launch on Day One! More details on the campaign coming soon! 📘 If you'd like to donate supplies and help support this effort, mark your calendar for the Donation Drive hosted by the Derby Walmart: https://www.facebook.com/RoseHillUSD394/posts/pfbid0oByDuBkpvRHMZSS5TZVJnVoM6gpWV5MHEqyfSgBQGFXR4piqV5czptrVFRNfkDsLl 𝗠𝗜𝗗𝗗𝗟𝗘 𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗟 𝗦𝗧𝗨𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦 View the full supply list here: https://5il.co/2lm40 𝗛𝗜𝗚𝗛 𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗟 𝗦𝗧𝗨𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦 Just bring your bag, a notebook, and something to write with on the first day. Individual teachers will let students know if additional supplies are needed. Since Middle and High School are subject-based, it’s more difficult to create a district-wide 'Clear the List' initiative. However, we’re committed to supporting all students however we can. If you’d like to donate, or if you’re a family in need, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at: rosehillschools@usd394.com. Hopefully this helps answer some questions to help you gear up for a great year! 🚀
