𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰? The Safe & Secure Bond will fund safe and secure entrances for all Rose Hill schools, improving the safety of our students, staff, and visitors. Safety is our top priority, and having secure entrances is a fundamental step in ensuring that our schools are safe havens for learning. Here are a few reasons why investing in secure entrances is essential: 🔒 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀: Safe entrances allow for better control of who enters and exits the building. By implementing a single point of entry, we can monitor all visitors, ensuring that only authorized individuals can access the school grounds. 🔒 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀: In the event of an emergency, having secure entrances can facilitate quicker responses. Clearly defined entry points can help first responders quickly assess the situation and access the building when needed. 🔒 𝗣𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀: Parents want to know that their children are safe while at school. By upgrading to secure entrances, we can reassure families that we are taking every precaution to protect their children. 🔒 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: A secure entrance allows for effective visitor management protocols, including sign-in procedures and visitor badges. This ensures that all visitors are accounted for and can be easily identified. 🔒 𝗘𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: When students feel safe, they can focus on learning without fear or distraction. A secure school environment fosters a positive atmosphere where students can thrive academically and socially, knowing they are protected. By voting YES on November 5th for the Secure & Soar Bond, we are making a commitment to the safety and well-being of our entire school community. Together, we can create a secure environment where learning flourishes, and every student feels safe and supported. #SecureAndSoar 🚀 #ProtectOurSchools 🔒 Read more about the bond here~ https://www.usd394.com/page/secureandsoar

𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰? The current playground surfaces at Rose Hill Primary and Intermediate Schools, made from black tire mulch, are not only messy but also raise safety concerns. Over time, this material can break down, creating hazards like sharp edges or loose, scattered pieces that can lead to trips and falls. Additionally, tire mulch retains heat, making it uncomfortably hot for children to play on during warmer months, further limiting safe use of the playgrounds. If the bond passes on November 5th, we will replace these outdated surfaces with modern, safer, and more accessible playground materials. Safer surfaces now are designed to cushion falls and reduce the risk of injury, offering a more reliable and clean environment for kids to play. These new surfaces will also be ADA-compliant, ensuring that all children, including those with mobility challenges, can enjoy the playgrounds equally. Upgrading our playgrounds will provide a safer, more inclusive play environment, promoting physical activity and social interaction while giving parents peace of mind. Investing in our playgrounds is an investment in the well-being of all our children, grandchildren, neighbors, and our smallest community members. #SecureAndSoar 🚀 #SafePlaygrounds 🛝🚸 Read more about the bond here~ https://www.usd394.com/page/secureandsoar

𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰? Outdated fluorescent bulbs, which are prone to flickering and dimming over time, not only drain more energy but also negatively affect the learning experience. Flickering lights can cause distractions, headaches, and eye strain, all of which make it harder for students to stay focused. Dim lighting creates a less engaging environment and can make it difficult for students and staff to perform tasks effectively, particularly in classrooms, labs, and common areas. Upgrading to energy-efficient lighting by voting YES on November 5th is about more than just saving on energy bills—it's an investment in the quality of our students' learning environments. Studies have shown that well-lit classrooms with natural or full-spectrum lighting can enhance student focus, reduce eye strain, and improve overall performance. By installing modern, energy-efficient lighting, we’ll provide brighter, more comfortable spaces for our students to thrive academically. Additionally, these upgrades will allow the district to allocate savings from lower energy costs toward other essential needs, ensuring resources are being used in the most effective way possible. This means the bond not only improves our learning environments but also supports long-term financial stability for the district. #SecureAndSoar 🚀 #EnergySavings 💡💸 Read more about the bond here~ https://www.usd394.com/page/secureandsoar

The October SEL Newsletters have been out -- but we failed to get them posted. But our kids have been busy focusing on it all month. The focus this month is: SEᒪᖴ-ᑕOᑎTᖇOᒪ 𝙎𝙚𝙡𝙛-𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙡 𝙞𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣; 𝙞𝙩’𝙨 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙨, 𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙜𝙤𝙖𝙡𝙨. Here are some ways that our PreK-12th grade students have and can continue to practice self-control: 1. Pause Before Acting: Take a moment to think before reacting to a situation. 2. Set Goals: Encourage students to set small, achievable goals and work toward them gradually. 3. Mindfulness Practices: Introduce techniques like deep breathing or meditation to help manage emotions. 4. Positive Self-Talk: Remind students to use encouraging words with themselves, especially during challenging times. 5. Limit Distractions: Create a focused environment when studying or working on tasks to help maintain concentration. Let’s continue to work together to build our self-control skills this month!

𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰? Our early childhood programs are thriving, but we've run out of space to support our growing numbers. Expanding classroom areas will allow us to accommodate more students, especially those on the waitlist for our 4-year-old classes. Right now, these classes are FULL, with an average of 15 students per teacher. This is 5 students more than what ChildCare.gov recommends as the ideal radio. Expanding will also ensure that our 3-year-old program continues to serve those in need of early interventions. Research shows that smaller class sizes and lower student-to-teacher ratios are critical for early childhood education. When teachers can give more individualized attention to students, particularly at these crucial developmental stages, it leads to significant improvements in: • Cognitive and language development • Social-emotional skills • Academic readiness for Kindergarten In fact, according to the National Institute for Early Education Research (NIEER), smaller class sizes in early education help children develop essential skills more effectively, fostering a strong foundation for future learning. By adding more space, we can reduce overcrowding, improve teacher-to-student ratios, and provide a more effective learning environment for both 3- and 4-year-olds. Additionally, our early childhood programs not only benefit young learners but also positively impact the wider community. High-quality early education leads to: • Better long-term academic achievement • Improved social outcomes, such as higher graduation rates • Lower crime rates • Economic benefits through increased future earnings of students With a YES Vote on November 5th for the Secure & Soar Bond - we’re not just preparing our youngest learners for success—we're setting up our entire community for a brighter future. This bond ensures every child has the space and support they need to thrive. #SecureAndSoar 🚀 #EarlyChildhoodEducation 🎒 Read more about the bond here~ https://www.usd394.com/page/secureandsoar

𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰? Our High School auditorium hasn’t been updated in 29 years! While originally designed to serve high school performances and events, today the auditorium is a hub for the entire Rose Hill community. Nearly all the schools in the district utilize this space for concerts, assemblies, and drama productions, while the community uses it for meetings, local performances, and more. This bond will modernize the auditorium by replacing the outdated and torn curtains, lighting, seating, and sound systems. These upgrades will enhance the quality of performances and events, improve accessibility and comfort for audience members, and create a more inviting space for all. By supporting the bond, we’re investing in a facility that benefits not only our students but also the broader Rose Hill community. 🎭🎤 #SecureAndSoar #CommunityInvestment 🚀
