💜 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐔𝐩 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐭! 💜 Yesterday was Purple Up Day, a time to recognize and celebrate our military-connected students and families. While we didn’t capture as many photos as we would've liked (we were busy celebrating!), we wanted to share one from our awesome Middle School Specials teachers rockin' their custom purple shirts, thanks to business teacher, Mr. Tucker! This year marked our first as a 𝗣𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁, and while we're proud of that recognition, this journey was never about the title, it was always about action. You’re up before the sun, braving all kinds of weather and traffic, making sure our students get to and from school safely each day. You’re more than drivers, you’re a friendly face, a good morning smile, and a comforting presence and wave goodbye after a long day. Thanks to funding from the Safe & Secure Schools GRANT, Automated External Defibrillator (AED units) are now fully installed in every district building, including our stadium, Central Office, Transportation, and the Parents as Teachers building. These Phillips FRX units come equipped with child keys and are accessible to anyone using our facilities. Our amazing school nurses have already begun training staff on how to use them and additional training will be available as needed. We’re proud to take this important step in protecting our students, staff, and community - because being prepared saves lives.

𝐓𝐮𝐫𝐟 + 𝐒𝐨𝐟𝐭𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐅𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞: 𝐖𝐞’𝐫𝐞 𝐆𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐫! Our new turf practice field is looking sharp! The lines and logo are officially in place, and we’re now in the infill application phase. Crews are spreading a mix of sand and rubber crumb (those tiny black pieces that end up all over your floor, iykyk) across the surface, a key step that adds cushioning, helps turf blades stand tall, and enhances safety for our athletes. 🥎 Meanwhile, over at the softball field, the first layer of sand has been laid to help with drainage prep. Things are moving right along, and we’re still hopeful that our Varsity Rocket softball girls will get to play at least two home games on their brand-new field this season!
