Last week, 15 of Mrs. Reed's Zoology students volunteered with zoo staff at the Sedgwick County Zoo, helping with animal care and getting hands-on experience with what it's like to be a zookeeper. From cleaning bird ponds to observing black swan wellness checks and prepping meals for mammals, our students went above and beyond! Afterwards, they were able to enjoy some of the other exhibits including the baby elephants and their adorable zoomies!
That's not all! -- A special shoutout to the group, who were complimented by a fellow zoo visitor for their outstanding work ethic and respectful behavior. Way to represent Rose Hill with pride! 👏🏼

Yesterday was Purple Up Day, a time to recognize and celebrate our military-connected students and families. While we didn’t capture as many photos as we would've liked (we were busy celebrating!), we wanted to share one from our awesome Middle School Specials teachers rockin' their custom purple shirts, thanks to business teacher, Mr. Tucker!
This year marked our first as a 𝗣𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁, and while we're proud of that recognition, this journey was never about the title, it was always about action. With nearly 8% of our students military-connected (a percentage even higher than that of Wichita!), we’re committed to showing up for these students and families every day.

For the past few years, they've been focused on creating joyful, hands-on learning experiences that spark curiosity and build a lifelong love of learning, starting in our youngest students. ❤️

You’re up before the sun, braving all kinds of weather and traffic, making sure our students get to and from school safely each day. You’re more than drivers, you’re a friendly face, a good morning smile, and a comforting presence and wave goodbye after a long day.
You don’t just drive buses… you drive ROCKETS ... and that’s a pretty big deal around here!
