On Tuesday, Kim Drake and Mr. Lovell took 8th graders - Silas Lovell, Ryan Drake, Ben Rempe, and Brett Lemer to Topeka to serve as legislative pages at the Kansas State Capitol.
The students were sponsored by Representative Blake Carpenter and had a great experience learning firsthand about state government in action.

Even better ... they ran into Keith Marshall, Chief of Government & Legislative Affairs and husband of our District Librarian, Mrs. Marshall!

What a memorable day of leadership, learning, and service. ⭐

Parents and Guardians,

RHMS has a program for students to reward grades and behavior. This program is detailed in our student handbook, and it provides a fun activity for students who earn it. There is one reward day per semester.

The criteria for participation are:
1. Academics: A student must hold a 3.0 GPA or better.
2. Behavior: A student must have less than 5 Minor Incident Referrals (MIRs). A student must have zero Office Discipline Referrals (ODRs).

Our reward day for 1st semester will be next week. Each grade level will go on a different day-- 7th grade will go Monday, 6th grade will go Tuesday, and 8th grade will go Wednesday. If your student was eligible, they received a permission slip on Monday or Tuesday. If you have not signed this permission slip, please sign and send with your student ASAP.

The annual RHMS fundraiser kicks off next Monday, Feb. 16!! We've decided to change it up a little bit this year to reduce overhead expenses and fees that take away from total earnings. Students will be bringing home "Pay-the-Day" calendars, as well as information regarding donations and prizes. Families with multiple students in the building will only need to complete one calendar per family. Top earners will receive lunch and a trip to Aviate! The fundraiser will go until March 12, and winners will be announced after Spring Break!
