🌟📚 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐭 📚🌟 We are thrilled to share that our Parents as Teachers program has been awarded a phenomenal $50,000 grant as part of the Investing in the Power of Families initiative! 🎉 This grant is a game-changer for our community, allowing PAT to create something truly special.
Introducing... 📖 The StoryWalk at School Street Pond! 🌳 Thanks to this generous grant, PAT is bringing the magic of storytelling outdoors, right here in our small town. Similar to the beloved StoryWalk at High Park in Derby, our StoryWalk will wind its way around our charming little pond, offering families and children a literary adventure in nature.
Tomorrow, Thursday, the Rose Hill PAT is kicking off this exciting project with a special event for our elementary students! The kiddos will get a sneak peek into the world of the StoryWalk. Plus, every student who joins in on the fun will receive their very own copy of the charming book, "I Went Walking."
This project wouldn't be possible without the incredible support of the national Parents as Teachers program and the Investing in the Power of Families initiative. They are beyond grateful for this opportunity to enhance our community and empower families through literacy and outdoor exploration.
For right now, contractors hope to have the project completed within a month (with cooperation from the weather obviously). So stay tuned for updates as our PAT program works towards bringing the StoryWalk to life! 🌟

Rose Hill is <12 miles from McConnell Air Force Base. Over 8% of our students enrolled are from military families and that number is expected to grow. These kiddos show incredible strength and resilience every day. This Friday, April 19, the Department of Defense wants everyone to wear purple in celebration of military-connected families and we're joining them! Rock your purple shirt no matter where you are to show your support and appreciation. These amazing kids selflessly sacrifice for our country and are brave, proud, and strong. Together, let's celebrate their courage and perseverance! 💜🇺🇸
