Mr. Maxwell's 7th grade social studies classes had the honor of hosting a speaker from The Dissident Project, Mailyn Salabarria. For the past several years, Mr. Maxwell has brought in a variety of speakers from this organization to speak to his classes about their personal stories and the tyrannical regimes they have fled to live a better life in America. The students loved hearing Ms. Salabarria's story and had great questions for her! To read more about this year's speaker, or about The Dissident Project in general, please visit the link below:

Last week, another group of our amazing 8th graders had the opportunity to serve as Pages at the Kansas Capitol! 🇺🇸
Shoutout to Sierra Hall, Savanna Blake, Emersyn Wisely, and Lexie Linot for representing our school so well as Pages for Representative Blake Carpenter.
Lt. Col. Keith Marshall (Kansas National Guard), Chief of Government & Legislative Affairs—and husband of our very own district librarian, Mrs. Marshall—always tries to make sure he connects with the Rose Hill students while they're serving and this time was no different. We appreciate our kids being able to meet with a familiar face!
One of the major highlights of the day was meeting and speaking with Taiwan’s Ambassador to the United States, Alexander Tah-ray Yui, who was visiting to address the Kansas House of Representatives and strengthen important sister-state and economic partnerships.
Serving as a legislative page is an incredible opportunity for students to learn firsthand about the legislative process and how our state government works.
We’re so proud of these students for taking part in such a meaningful experience! 👏
