New May 21, 2020 (most recent update May 21 at 12:30 pm)
USD 394 has rescheduled the 2020 Summer Session of Driver's Education. The classroom session is now scheduled for
June 15 - July 3. Depending upon enrollment numbers, there may need to be both a morning session and an afternoon session.
Information about the summer session of Driver's Education is located in the forms below:
The $230 class fee, enrollment form, and permit application will all be due back to the high school office on either June 1 or June 2 between 8 am and 12 pm. Students who did not have an eye exam performed by a school nurse during the 2019-2020 school year will need to be present at this time for an eye exam. Documentation from an eye doctor listing the student’s vision acuity and dated during the most recent school year can be attached to the permit application in lieu of the student being present for the eye exam. At this time, enrollment is being limited to Rose Hill students or students who live within the Rose Hill school district.
As soon as your student turns 14 years of age, the Driver’s Education Instructors do recommend that students make an appointment to go to the DMV and obtain the learner's permit as they are required to hold the learner's permit for a full calendar year. The Kansas Driver’s Handbook can be downloaded here. Driver's Education is required in order for the student to obtain the 15-year old Restricted Driver's License.
