COVID-19 Virus Information
This message is to communicate the most current information regarding how the Corona Virus will impact schools as we move forward.
At 4:25PM today {March 17th, 2020}, Governor Laura Kelly announced that Kansas schools will be required to close their campuses to students, for the remainder of the 2019/2020 school year.
Permission for small group instruction may come later.
This includes all practices and school activities.
We understand that this mandate has a tremendous effect on our students, staff, parents, and community, and it is important you know that our team of administrators is currently working to develop a plan to address the concerns related to this latest information and also to continue to educate our students.
The Kansas State Department of Education is providing ongoing guidance to our district as we clarify the details of this plan.
At this time, we are extending spring break for all Rose Hill students and staff for an additional week to include the week of March 23rd through March 27th during which the students will have no educational requirements.
Please understand that even though our campuses will be closed to students for the remainder of the school year, the state has required administration and teachers to continue to educate students following the extended spring break.
All district employees will be returning to work in some capacity and will be notified in the next few days regarding their work schedules. We have a number of details we need to work through related to how we will deliver instruction to students and how we will utilize staff. As we finalize those details, we will be communicating with you on a consistent basis throughout the next several days.
We understand you will have many questions and concerns, and you can be confident that we will be sharing the latest important information with you as it becomes available.
There are many websites that can provide you information about the Coronavirus. We have included the link to the Center for Disease Control and our Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
