Last Board of Education Meeting in 2017 and for Board Member Kirk Hayden
Rose Hill School Board held their last meeting for 2017, as well as said their good byes to long time board member Kirk Hayden. The evening began as RHHS Choir sang in the lobby of the District's Administrative office while the RHHS Band played in the boardroom as board members and guest arrived for the board meeting.
There were many topics on the agenda for the meeting but none compared to the RHHS Students and Directors who provided the holiday music and the honoring of the service board member Kirk Hayden has provided the school district and community.
Although many choir students were still recovering from a 14-hour day at Century II singing with Chris Mann they still performed several holiday songs without missing a note.
The RHHS Band students too were exhausted after performing at their Winter Band Concert Sunday, but shared the stage playing many songs and setting the holiday tone in getting the audience in the mood.
It is always a pleasure to have both groups perform at the board meetings. The board members really appreciate them taking time out of their busy school schedules to perform for them.
It was with great honor Board President John Purvis presented Vice President Kirk Hayden a gavel engraved with the dates served on the board in the capacity of board member, BOE member 2001-2002, BOE V.P. 2003, 2004, & 2017, and BOE Pres. 2005-2016. The board members presented Kirk with a card too. Superintendent Randal Chickadonz, board members and staff during and after the board meeting, expressed thank you and several well wishes to Kirk.
The School Board Members, District Administration, District Directors and Staff thank Kirk for being a leader and who gave the best of himself so Rose Hill School District could provide for the students of Rose Hill.
