Course Description: This yearlong course is an integrated course designed to improve student skills in writing/language, reading/literature, speaking, listening and viewing.

Class Guidelines
- Be prepared to work in class, both individually and as a team member.
- Be on time!
- Late work is counted off 5% each day it is late.
- Participation points add up. BE IN CLASS!!
- Bring a good attitude.
- Keep track of your assignments and due dates.
- Be responsible for make-up work.
- Be socially responsible.
- Show respect in this classroom and in the hallways.
Getting organized (supplies):
- Assignment notebook
- One two-pocket folder (for English only)
- One package of line paper, either narrow or wide line
- One (70 sheet) spiral notebook, specifically for English; this will stay in the classroom
- Pencils (No. 2), pens (black or blue and one red), and a highlighter (any color)
- One box of Kleenex; this will be our stock for the year (extra credit applies)
Grading:
Students will be evaluated by projects, daily exercises, compositions, and objective and subjective tests and quizzes, as well as by observation, group interaction, and student participation.
- Grading scale:
90-100 A
80- 89 B
70- 79 C
60- 69 D
59 and below F
- Grades will be weighted according to the following categories:
- Participation 20%
- Projects 25%
- Bell Work 20%
- Quizzes 5%
- Test 10%
- Assignments 20%
