It's a New Year of School for Staff and Students; New and Returning
Welcome wishes for an exciting and educational year!
Pictured are the new certified staff members who have completed four days of Inservice and are anxious and ready to start the school year. Inservice days covered the following topics:
1st day-8/9 - Registration, breakfast provided by Rose Hill Education Association (RHEA), welcome and introductions from Superintendent Randal Chickadonz, welcome by Board President John Purvis, introduction of RHEA members, overview of the district presented by Superintendent Randal Chickadonz, introduction of technology staff and training on acceptable use policy, email accounts and laptop checkout, set up on Kansas Educator Evaluation Protocol (KEEP), meet their mentor, lunch compliments of USD 394 at Pizza Hut, and mentor/mentee 1/2 day at their building.
2nd day - 8/10 - Light breakfast, get picture for identification badge, biography for the newspaper, employment paperwork, review of district initiatives, KEEP training by RHEA President Sheryl Townson, lunch sponsored by Rose Hill Bank, and 1/2 day at the building with principal.
3rd day - 8/11- Light breakfast, continuation of employment paperwork, picture for badge and finish work on biography, introduction of Administrative office staff, introduction of Buildings and Ground Director David Hull and district procedures and tour, lunch on their own, 1/2 day at the building w/mentor, key check-out at building and PowerSchool/PowerTeacherPro training with Middle School Teacher Terry Smades and Technology Director Gregg Walls.
4th day - 8/14 - All certified staff reported to the high school commons for a light breakfast, district introductions, then everyone moved to the auditorium for district awards and KESA overview, lunch was on their own, then high school staff reported to the high school library for Lyons Quest training and K-8 staff reported to the high auditorium for AimsWeb Plus training.
It is always nice to see all the students back at school. Students in grades 1-12, preschool, and early childhood classes began school August 17th. Kindergarten students started with half of the classes reporting August 22nd and half the 23rd.
