Rose Hill Primary School 1st Grade Teacher is Awarded the Golden Apple Award!

Cheryl Caton was chosen to receive one of the Golden Apples awarded by KAKE News. There have been over 400 Golden Apples presented to area educators since 2003. On May 5th, KAKE made a visit to Rose Hill Primary School to surprise Cheryl for winning the award. KAKEland received Cheryl’s nomination from a parent of one of her student's who appreciated Cheryl taking time after school with her and admired Cheryl's classroom management skills.
KAKE's program recognizes educators who have made a positive difference in schools by giving them recognition for their motivation and encouragement working with students on learning strategies for a lifetime of learning for students.
Davis Moore was present to award the Golden Apple trophy. Cheryl also received $250 from Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers to use for her classroom as they see fit.
Cheryl was introduced to the School Board On Monday, May 9th, by Primary School Principal Terri Reilly.
