Patrons Approve LOB Authority Increase
Patrons of the Rose Hill School District have voted to approve the request to increase the authority level for the district's Local Option Budget (LOB) fund. Initially, the district was asking for the patrons approval in order to have tax dollars being sent to Topeka returned back to Rose Hill in the form of LOB State Aid. However, legislators now have proposed not to provide any additional State aid to districts for next year. So, although the tax dollars we were seeking may not be available, the favorable vote will still allow the School District to transfer currently levied mils from "capital" (brick and mortar) funds to "operational" (student/personnel) funds.
The Rose Hill School Board of Education, students, and staff would like to thank the district patrons for this favorable vote. We appreciate your help and support in working to provide the best educational opportunities for our children. This vote will help us to continue to utilize the dollars we receive in the most effective manner possible.
