RHMS ATHLETICS AND ACTIVITIES

RHMS is a member of the Pioneer League Division IV. In the 2008-09 season, Division IV of the Pioneer League will consist of six schools: Circle, Rose Hill, Mulvane, Augusta, Wellington, and El Dorado. The school year is divided into four sport seasons. The fall season consists of volleyball, football, cross country, and soccer and runs from August to the second week in October. Winter season number one runs from the third week of October to mid-January and includes boys' basketball. Girls' basketball and wrestling make up winter season number two. Practice for these sports begins before winter break and lasts through the end of February. In th espring, students may participate in track or golf, and both are co-ed. The spring season is from March to May. Cheerleading is an after-school commitment from August to the first of March. And for a more cerebral sport, Scholars' Bowl is scholastic competition and a great opportunity for students to be a part of a team while working their brains. Students compete to answer questions quickly, correctly and with poise. The season begins in October and runs through mid-February.

ATHLETIC PHYSICAL AND WAIVER FORMS

The KSHSAA mandates that all athletes and some activities must have a physical each year prior to participation. Physicals must be completed on a KSHSAA physical form as well as front and back of the district medical waiver form, and turned in to the middle school athletic director before the student may practice. Physical forms are available from the middle school office, local physicians or chiropractors. Students also must submit an insurance release form. The file opens with any .pdf capable software. We recommend Adobe Acrobat Reader. Physicals completed after May 1st are good through the 2007-08 school year.
