Rose Hill High School Library received several grant awards that provided funds for books to supplement the collection at the high school library. All books purchased with these grants are available for checkout by Rose Hill students and community patrons. If you have any questions, or would like to inquire about any of these books, please contact Jane Barnard at 776-3393 at RHHS Library.

*Kansas Library Network Board Interlibrary Loan Development Grant 1: This grant provided $2700 for the purchase of career development books for high school students. Career topics in this grant are: mathematics; nursing; film/television; biology; interior design; graphic design; construction; architecture; education; law; radio; communication; fashion; military; science; foreign language; drama; advertising; sports; medicine; child care; e-commerce; agriculture; business; animal care; fitness; aviation; engineering; cosmetology; retail; urban planning; dot-com companies; careers without college; real estate; law enforcement; extreme careers – race car driver, stunt performer, FBI, smoke jumper; hotel and restaurant management; etc. Our existing collection was dated and these books will provide current career information for our students as they study about the world of work outside high school.

*Kansas Library Network Board Interlibrary Loan Development Grant 2: This grant provided $1550 for the purchase of books related to mythology, a course taught at RHHS and included in language arts classes curriculum. The mythology titles include stories and folklore from numerous cultures and background information on the origin of the stories and the characters. Studying myths and cultures teach us about our place in history. The purpose of this grant was to add to our existing mythology collection with books about the heroes, gods and goddesses that are the foundation of cultures around the world.
