PTC MINUTES – November 28, 2006

Meeting was opened by Jennifer Herrera

OLD BUSINESS

Minutes from October
Minutes were read; Sherri Strawn made a motion to accept them as written while a second was given by Shelley Gardner.  Motion passed.

Treasurer’s Report
Kelli Farber went over the treasurer’s report.  We’ve been having some trouble with bounced checks and discussed maybe waiting before issuing final checks back to the schools for fundraisers to help keep us from going into the negative numbers on our account.

Debbie Kill made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report as is and a second was given by Barb Nelson.  Motion passed.

Family Portrait Fundraiser
Staci Rodman reported that we had about 30 families participate in our family picture fundraiser.  Not as many as we had hoped however, plan to try it again next year and see if we can get more participation.

Spirit Wear
Melinda McKnown is going to be contacted to get information and to find out the end date for taking orders.

NEW BUSINESS

Santa Shop
There will be a Santa present on Thursday night and it was asked that we provide candy canes to give out to the kids.  Greg Rodman will be donating the candy canes.

Movie Morning
Movie morning will be put on hold for now and we will talk with Heather Gray about getting one set up for the spring.

Dining Around Town
Jennifer Herrera will check on an alternative date for the primary school dining around town that was set up for Friday, December 8th as the Wee Rockets will be performing at the basketball game that night.

OTHER NEWS

IRS
Angela Boese reported on our standing with the tax exemption status of PTC which is a process we’ve been working on for the past 2 years.  All of the paperwork has been filled out to make us tax exempt with the state and the federal government.  Angela faxed another paper today and informed us that there will probably be another charge around $50.00 before we are done to clear up our issues with them.  She also brought up the idea of checking on hiring a CPA to help us keep everything up to date since so much money goes through PTC.  It would be nice to find someone with a specialty in non-profit organizations.  More will be discussed at the December meeting.

Skate night
Lori Mounts reported a poor attendance at the last one and gave Kelli the $8.00 profit we made.  She is visiting with the person from the skating rink to get the advertisements here earlier to be sent home with the students.

Motion to adjourn meeting made by Dana Thompson and a second was issued by Carri Brownell.  Motion passed; meeting adjourned at 7:45.
