PTC MINUTES January 30, 2007
Gena Wade opened the meeting and welcomed everyone
OLD BUSINESS
Minutes
Sherri Strawn made a motion to accept the minutes as written and Kerri Brownell gave a second. Motion passed.
Treasurer’s Report
Kelli Farber went over the treasurer’s report giving detail about all new money that has come in and any changes from last month. She filled us in on Mike Dassel CPA going over our information and getting everything up to date with the IRS. He has agreed to go over our finances each month. It was agreed that we will be getting him a gift certificate since he is not charging us. Mrs. Sanders made a motion to accept the minutes as they were and a second was given by Sherri Strawn. Motion passed.
Spirit Wear
Gena visited with Melinda McKnown about spirit wear. Gena will get samples to the primary and middle school offices. Intermediate already has some. An order will be going in again on February 15th. Gena will talk to Melinda about sending an order in monthly to make sure everyone that is interested is able to purchase the spirit wear.
Bingo
Shelley Gardner has volunteered to chair the bingo committee. She will be asking for volunteers. Anyone interested should contact her or Gena. The license to have bingo has been ordered from the state. The date has been changed to Saturday, April 14th. We will be contacting someone to organize the classroom baskets to have for a silent auction on the same night.
NEW BUSINESS
School Store
All inventory has been gone through and organized. The councilors may have items to give to students that are in need and any left overs will be used by Debbie Kill for packets in the Fall.
Movie night
Heather Gray will set up a Rose Hill night to see “ Bridge to Teribithia” on Tuesday, February 20th. The showing would be reserved for Rose Hill.
Popcorn Day
Dan Gray said he could get us the BIG bags of popcorn for $10.00 a bag. We agreed to just buy it from him and bag it ourselves to sell for .50 a bag. Each school will keep the money raised from their children to use in their building to benefit the kids. The date for popcorn day will be March 15th.
Funds from last year
Jennifer Herrera said Angela Boese contacted her and expressed concern about the funds that were donated last year for the playground. Since the district funded most of the playground, what was the PTC money used for? Mrs. Sanders listed and explained a few of the items that were purchased off the top of her head (Peaceful Playground, rock wall items, etc.). She also informed us that there was still money in a separate account that they would continue to use as needed for items needed at the new school.
Other
Mrs. Walker talked to us about a coffee fundraiser she and the “Skaters 4 Life” kids are doing to help fund a skate park in the city of Rose Hill. They sell for $10.00 and ½ of that goes back to the group. See her if you’d like to order.
Sherri Strawn won a drawing for a free pizza from Pizza Hut.
Kay Walker made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:55 with a second given by Sabrina Cantrell. Meeting adjourned.
