PTC MINUTES – December 19, 2006

Meeting was opened and everyone welcomed by Gena Wade.

OLD BUSINESS

Minutes
Minutes from the November meeting were reviewed.   Mr. Collier made a motion to approve the minutes as written and Mrs. Walker gave a second.  Minutes approved as written.

Treasurer’s Report
Kelli Farber went over the treasurer’s report and answered any questions.  Mrs. Walker made a motion to approve them as is and Janice Pray issued a second.  Treasurer’s Report approved as written.

Dream Dinners
Jennifer Herrera went over the Dream Dinners fundraiser that we had in October and November.  $380.00 has been donated so far.  She also reported that the ladies that run Dream Dinners said anyone that comes up and tells them they are from the Rose Hill PTC at any time they will donate the $10.00 per 6 meal and $20.00 per 12 meal pack bought.

Family Pictures
We will get an update from Staci Rodman for next month’s meeting, as she was unable to be at the meeting tonight.  Gena stated she thought we made approximately $300.00.  She also said we are thinking about doing another one in the spring.

Santa Shop
Heather Gray was unable to be at the meeting however, has volunteered to do the Santa Shop again next year.  She would like any input or ideas if anyone has any.  A motion was made by Shelley Gardner to approve the $3000.00 to Heather Gray to spend for the 2007 Santa Shop so that she can be shopping sales throughout the year.  Mrs. Sanders issued the second and the motion passed.  It was stated that everyone liked having “Santa” come on Thursday night and would like to see that again next year.

Gena will be getting a fruit basket to give to Webster Storage as a thank you for donating the storage unit for us to keep the Santa Shop items in.

IRS
Dena Dassel’s husband is a CPA, specializing in non-profit organizations.  She will be talking with Angela Boese about this.

Spirit Wear
Gena collected the money for spirit wear.  She said the orders would be in Wednesday, December 20th so kids can have them for Christmas.  Gena says we will need to have another order go in maybe in January for those that were not able to order on this first order.

NEW BUSINESS

Movie night
Heather Gray said we could do something in January.  A Tuesday night would work best for the theater rather than a Saturday morning show.  We decided that we would try to get one set up and thought a Tuesday night 6:00 show would work with late start being on Wednesday.  We will get with her to figure out a date and movie.

Bingo/Carnival
We discussed having bingo and/or carnival this spring.  We talked about having both, rotating each year, or having bingo night and then having a fun night using the carnival games later in the spring.  It was decided that we will have bingo only this year using the class auction baskets (that are usually auctioned at the carnival) for an auction at the bingo night and getting donations for prizes as we did last year.  It was decided that bingo pulled in a lot of the community last year (fire dept, police, teachers, students, etc.) and that is was a great family activity with less set-up and volunteers needed.  Mr. Collier is checking on the availability of tables to use in the multi-purpose room.  He will get back with us and then we will turn in a building use permit.  February 23rd and March 31st are two dates we are looking at right now.

NEW
Mrs. Sanders asked about the PTC being able to help the nurse’s office with clothes.  At times students need clothes to change into during the day and their supply is very low.  She asked if we would think about helping with the purchase of some sweat suits to keep in the nurse’s office.  Jennifer Herrera will get with Cathy Hoss to find out what is needed and sizes and will spend up to $200.00 for clothing for the nurse’s office.

Motion was made by Laura Songers to adjourn meeting a second was issued by Wendy Weiss and meeting was adjourned at 8:05.
