Gena Wade opened the meeting and welcomed everyone to the start of a new year! She started with introductions of the board members and explained that we always have a babysitter available at the meetings, a door prize, and talked about it costing only $1.00 to be a voting member of PTC. All meetings this year will be held in the primary/intermediate lunchroom usually on the last day of each month. Please enter through the south door just off the intermediate playground that goes directly into the lunchroom.

School Packets
Debbie Kill was not able to be at tonight’s meeting. We will get the information from her and present it at the September meeting. There was a concern raised about having two different lists. Wal-Mart’s list was different than the list that was on line. The principals are looking into this and will try and get it corrected before next year.
Principals
The principals of all three schools talked about how the money donated to them from PTC was spent last year. Intermediate and primary pooled some money together to purchase such things as xylophones for music class, picnic tables for the playgrounds, benches for the playgrounds as well as in front of the school, and geofitness maps for PE. Intermediate also purchased digital cameras for each grade level, video carts, a laminator, and a cart for it. Primary was able to purchase about $1,000 worth of classroom items for each grade level. Rocking chairs, classroom carpets, etc. were purchased with the money. Middle school had money put toward field trips, di-cuts for the library, and library books bought.
NEW BUSINESS
School Liaisons
The new primary liaisons are April Morris and Susan Van Driel. The new intermediate liaisons are Wendy Weiss and Jana Brownlee.
Box Tops and Labels
Debbie Kill, Suzanna Bloir-Pappan, and Veronica Bently will be taking care of box tops and labels again this year. We will be sending information about this out to parents soon.
Celebration books
We will again be donating money to each library to purchase monthly celebration books to have student names put in honoring them on the month of their birthday. Parents are also able to donate money to purchase a book or an AR test to honor their child. We will check on getting a note out explaining how it works.
Welcome Back Breakfasts
Intermediate had their breakfast last week and primary and middle school will have their welcome back breakfast on Wednesday, September 5th.
Yum Yum Wednesday
Yum Yum Wednesdays will continue at the intermediate school this year with the healthy snacks like they sold last year. Primary feels it is too much of a distraction and would like to leave it at the intermediate level only. Everyone that attends a PTC meeting is given a certificate for a free yum yum treat for their child.
Spirit Wear
Heather Gray is in charge of spirit wear this year. She is working with a new person that will be making up samples for us to hang in each of the offices. Order information will be coming out soon.
Fund Raisers
We will discuss fundraisers for this school year at the September meeting in order to keep this meeting a little shorter. Bring any new ideas to the September meeting.
By-Laws meeting
The annual by-laws meeting will be held on September 11, 2007 in the lunchroom. Anyone that wants input on the 2007-2008 by-laws is invited to attend.

Kevin Collier won the pizza certificate that was given away tonight.
At 8:00 Kelly Stiles made a motion to adjourn the meeting; a second was given by Amanda Nalleaux. Meeting adjourned.
