Marching Camp 2008!!!

Required unless absence request form has been submitted by May 30th.

Full Band Camp
- Monday, August 4th - Friday, August 8th 8:00am - 12:00noon

We will rehearse each morning from 8:00 until 12:00noon on campus at RHHS. On Thursday night we will plan a social activitiy and on Friday evening at 6:00 we will have a cookout and demonstration performance for the friends and families. During camp we will learn the marching drill, color guard choreography and the music to our fall contest show. Our goal is to have the complete show learned in summer camp so that in the fall we can concentrate on polishing the music, visually cleaning the forms and improving individual marching and playing technique. If we accomplish this, our fall rehearsals will be much less stressful and the quality of our show will greatly improve. Therefore it is of utmost importance that we have ALL of our members at summer camp. We can not accomplish our goals if we have “holes” in our drill. If you have an unavoidable schedule conflict with any or all of the days of summer camp, please fill out the Absence Request Form. Work conflicts are NOT considered unavoidable. Talk to your employer NOW and avoid schedule conflicts. Students who miss summer camp will have 7:00am rehearsals during the first week of school.

Drum Line Sectionals are on Monday, July 28th - August 1st 1:00-4:00pm

Color Guard Sectionals are on Monday, August 4th - Friday 8th 12:30 - 3:30

Marching Band Fees:

Camp and Uniform Fee - $25 if paid by May 30th $30 if paid at camp This fee covers a band t-shirt and dry cleaning and maintenance on the marching uniforms and the camp cookout and social event. (Make checks out to Music Boosters)

Students are to purchase black band shoes. New shoes cost $25 and are ordered during the first week of school in the fall. Used shoes are available for ten dollars.

Parent Volunteers Needed: We will need parent volunteers to sponsor the social event and help with the cookout. If you are available/interested, please contact Mr.Bartley at dbartley@usd394.com or 776-3320 (w) or 788-0832 (h).
