Girls on right track for Regionals
The Lady Rockets took on the El Dorado Wildcats Thursday evening. With sophmore, Courtney Rash pitching, the Rockets held the Cats to only 5 hits. The Rockets would jump out on El Dorado 2-1, grabbing a small lead. The ladies pushed out the score and won the first game 6-3. The next game would be all Rose Hill as they had 8 runs in the 4th and 5th inning giving them the 9-1 victory on Senior Night, and grabbing momentum for Regionals coming up. The ladies are looking good and have high hopes for the rest of the season. With only 2 losses, the Rockets are one of the top in the league, and will look to advance their record against Andale next Monday.
Baseball Struggles against Cats
The El Dorado Wildcats, ranked 1st in the league, would be a tough double-header for the Rockets. In the opening game of the night, the Rockets got on the scoreboard first, containing a 1-0 lead. Sophmore pitcher Heath Train, threw his stuff and the fielders only gave up one error. The Rockets would lose the lead in the 6th inning allowing El Dorado to capture a 4-3 victory over the Rockets. The next game wasn't as pretty, as the Wildcats scored 8 runs in the first inning. That would be the end of it as the Rockets couldn't seem to strike a comeback, losing 13-4 on Senior Night. The 3 Seniors include:Ryan Anderson, Jared Benward, and Chase Ozbun.
Lady Soccer Falls Big to Trojans
Coming off a big win against Mulvane, the Ladies traveled to Andover looking to do the same. In this case, it would be the Trojans doing the scoring coming out to a 7-0 first half lead. Down by 7, the Rockets had to find a way to shut down Andover's scoring attack. The Trojans made it difficult for Rose Hill to get any looks at the goal allowing only 1 shot the entire game. Sam Duque had her job cut out for her as the Trojans totaled up 34 shots on goal. The Rockets fell to the Trojans 9-0 but will look to recooperate next monday against Augusta.
