Baseball Splits with Wellington
The Rocket baseball team came out ready to play against the very talented Crusaders. The Rockets kept the game scoreless up to 3 innings, but came out hitting from there on. Putting up 2 runs in the 4th inning the Rockets seemed to have the momentum on their side. Wellington couldn't get anything going against Zack Kretsch, who pitched an outstanding game, holding Wellington scoreless. The Rockets would get a big win over Wellington 5-0. The next game would be all the Crusaders, as they bounced back from the prior game. The Rockets would fall to Wellington in the second game of the double header, 11-1. Buhler will travel into Rose Hill next to take on the 3-5 Rockets.
Rockets Remain Unbeaten
The Lady Rockets Softball team had another close one in Wellington, coming down to extra innings in the opening game. The Ladies allowed the Crusaders to get off to an early 2-0 lead, but would make up for the lost ground with their bats in the 4th inning, tieing the game up at 2. Both teams would score again, forcing extra innings. The Ladies would rally together and find the home plate in the 9th inning, coming out victorious in the first game 4-3. In the next game the Ladies would come out hitting and push an early 4-0 lead, and they would never look back as they beat the Crusaders once again 4-1. The Lady softball team remains unbeaten and look to keep it that way against the upcoming Buhler Crusaders.
RH Scoreless Against Crusaders
The Lady Rockets traveled to Buhler Friday, looking to get on a winning track. The Ladies started off slow and never could get in the rythm of the game. Buhler fired out with one goal after the other and pushed their lead to 5 goals in the first half, while the Rockets remained scoreless. It was all Crusaders in the second half as they mananged to put up three more goals pushing the margin up to eight. While the Rockets never could get anything going, they still fought and scrapped until the final whistle. The Rockets would never find the net as Buhler's defense played excellent. The Ladies will try to get things back on track this Tuesday where they will host the Andover Trojans for their first home game of the season.
