Offense Propels Rocket Victory
The Lady Rocket soccer team came out ready for battle Tuesday evening against the Circle Thunderbirds. The Rockets got off to a tremendous 1st half with numerous shots on goal. Three of those shots would find the net in the first half, two of them by Kelli Herbel and one by Kristy Herman. The Rockets, with a 3-0 half time lead, had no plans on stopping the momentum coming out of half time ready for more. Freshman Carissa Hull would contribute a goal of her own to push the lead slowly away. The defense would slip allowing Circle to score 2 goals of their own, but it wouldn't be enough as Junior Kelli Herbel would put the final nail in the coffin scoring once more giving her a hat trick, finishing the game with 3 goals. The Ladies defeated the Thunderbirds 5-2 after their outstanding offensive production. |

Men's Track Finishes 4th
The Varisty Mens track team traveled to Kingman Tuesday to compete in the 5th meet of the season. The Field events started off nicely with Shawn Galindo finsihing 2nd in Triple Jump, jumping 39 feet, followed by Chris Paddock in the Discus with a throw of 124 feet. The Running events placed well as Matt Rogers took home the gold medal in the 3200 meter with an outstanding time of 10:54.73. The boys also had a top finish in the 4 x 800 meter relay running a time of 9:36.87. The team finished in 4th place and will look to get better in the upcoming week. |

Relay's Help Score for Rockets
The Lady Varsity track team has a small roster, but are working well with what they got. At Kingman many of the girls relay teams stepped up their times to carry them on to top finishes. The girls 4 x 100 meter relay team took home the gold medal with a time of 55.79 along with the 4 x 400 meter relay team finshins 1st with a time of 4:35.90. In the field events, Emily Jones contributed well in the Javeling taking 4th. Sophmore Nicole Appel had a fast night taking 3rd in the 100 meter dash. The ladies finished 5th overall and will look improve before the Clearwater meet. |
