Ladies Become Victorious in OT
The Lady Rocket Basketball team, coming off a tough loss to Andover Central, looked to get back on track with a win against the Andale Indians. The Rockets jumped on Andale in the early minutes, but the Indians would remain on top by one going into the second quarter. The Rockets came out flat in the first half and trailed the Indians 21-16 going into halftime. The score stayed close leading into the final minutes of the game. The Rockets trailed by three, with 45 seconds to go, when Junior Kristy Herman hit a big three-pointer to tie the game up at 38. The Rockets caught a break when Andale missed a layup in the final seconds. In overtime, the Rockets caught a good start and pushed the lead in the early minutes. The ladies outscored the Indians 14-5 in overtime, clinching the win 52-43. Whitney Bates led with 17 followed by Herman with 14. |

Boys Lose Big against Indians
The Boys Basketball team, struggling to get a win, faced off against the Indians of Andale. The Rockets came out sluggish and remained that way for most of the first half only putting up 13 points going into halftime. The Rockets managed to strike a quick run cutting the lead to 7 in the third quarter, but they couldn't hold on as the experienced Andale team took care of the ball and pushed the lead back up to double digits. Andale's defense would stifle the Rockets in the fourth, forcing numerous missed shots. The Rockets would fall to the Indians 37-55. Blaize Foltz led with 10 points and added 10 rebounds. The Rockets will host Mulvane this upcoming Friday for Homecoming. |
