Ladies Pull Off OT Victory
The lady Rockets advance to the Sub-State championship after a thrilling win over Augusta. The Rockets started out hot and pushed the lead early, but Augusta wasn't going to let their season end that easily, cutting the lead back down to 8 at half. The Rockets slowed down in the second half and couldn't get the shots they were looking for, allowing Augusta to take a 6 point lead in the final minutes of the game. The Rockets' Whitney Bates came up big in the fourth hitting two outstanding three-pointers, one of them at the buzzer to force overtime. With the momentum swinging in Rose Hill's favor, the Rockets took control of the overtime outscoring Augusta 12-2. The Rockets keep their 19-3 season alive and will look to upset state ranked Andover Central in Saturday's Sub-State championship game. |
