Rockets Get By El Dorado
The Rockets didn't have the shooting night they did against Buhler last Friday, but they shot well enough to get by El Dorado. The Rockets got off to a slow start, but picked it up before halftime to lead by 5 going into the locker room. The game remained fairly close in the third quarter, but in the fourth the Rockets blew the game open with a 23 point fourth quarter showing. The Rockets would get their ninth win beating El Dorado 56-39. Caleb Brown led the Rockets with 17 points followed by Tyler Shirley with 12 and Chase Ozbun with 7. The Rockets will play their last regular season game Thursday at Augusta. |

Ladies Pull Off Close Victory
The Lady Rockets faced off against the El Dorado Wildcats on senior night. The Rockets jumped on the Cats early, doubling their score 12-6 in the first quarter. El Dorado would have a big second quarter which got them back in the game trailing by 2 to the Rockets at half. The Rockets would make a run of their own in the third quarter and held the Wildcats to only 5 points in the third. With time winding down, the Rockets would remain ahead, and pulled off the win beating the Cats 44-38. The Rockets were led by Sophmore Whitney Bates with 13, followed by Audra Pfannenstiel with 11. The Rockets will travel to Augusta to play in their final league game Thursday. |

Wrestlers Send 4 to State
The Rocket Wrestling team traveled to Columbus last weekend to compete in the 4A regionals. The Rockets finished in overall high standings, taking 6th in the 15 team tournament. For some wrestlers it would be their last tournament and for others it would advance them to state. Those who advanced to compete in the 4A state championship tournament in Salina would be Seniors Ryan Anderson who finished 2nd (3-1), Brenton Daniel finishing 3rd (3-1), and Kyle Smith finishing 4th (4-1), along with Sophmore Zac Sparr who finished 1st going a perfect 3-0. The qualifiers will train hard this upcoming week, looking to finish well in Salina next Friday and Saturday. |
