Rockets Fall Big in Opener
The Rocket Basketball team traveled to Douglass to kick off the start of their season. Douglass, coming off a recent victory, looked to become 2-0. The Rockets battled early with the "Dawgs" and traded baskets for most of the quarter. Douglass then pushed the lead and led 25-17 going into the half. The Rockets regained lost ground with tough full court pressure which caused the Bulldogs to turn the ball over, leading to easy baskets for the Rockets. With early foul trouble, the Rockets had to improvise without Blaize Foltz on the court. The fourth quarter would be all Douglass and the seven year loosing streak for the Bulldogs against the Rockets would end. The Rockets fall in their season opener 40-60. |

Rockets Dominate the Dawgs
The Lady Rocket Basketball team started off their season at Douglass for the first round of the pre-season tournament. The ladies fired out and took an early lead against the Bulldogs. There was no looking back as the Rockets would out score Douglass in every quarter. Leading the scoring would be Juniors Kristy Herman, Audra Pfannenstiel, and Kelli Herbel putting up 13 points each. The Rockets, with no healthy Seniors, relied on the Juniors and underclassmen to take control of the game. They would be successful as the ladies pummeled the Bulldogs 58-38. The ladies will continue their great start Friday at Mulvane starting at 6:00 pm. |
