Rockets Take Home Trophy
The Rocket Basketball team, with an early upsetting loss to Douglass, looked to regain their lost ground in the Mulvane Pre-season Tournament. They would get their chance against the much-improved Mulvane team Friday night. The Rockets came out cold and the Wildcats took an early lead, finishing the half up by ten points. The Rockets would hang with the Wildcats throughout the second half and would take the lead late in the fourth. The Rockets would triumph over the cats 54-50. The Rockets would need a win over Andale Saturday to clinch first in the round robin tournament. The Rockets took an early lead and never looked back as they would weather Andale's late runs. The Rockets finished the tournament in 1st place with a 2-1 record. |

Ladies 3-0 Tournament Champs
The Lady Rocket Basketball team would travel to play Mulvane in the pre-season opener Friday night. The Rockets fired out early and took a nice first half lead with a comfortable 36-18 lead. Mulvane would scrap back in the second half cutting the lead to single digits in the fourth quarter. The Rockets would stifle the Wildcat comeback and hold on to the win 63-54. The lady Rockets would travel back to Mulvane in the final game of the tournament to play Andale. The Indians would be a tough challenge for the Rockets as they battled throughout the game. The Ladies would claw until the final minutes where they hit free throws to clinch the 51-42 win over the Andale Indians and take home the trophy with the 3-0 1st place finish. |

Wrestlers Finish 7th in Douglass
The Rocket Wresting team went to Douglass to compete in the Goodwill Tournament. The Rockets finished with four medalist but it wouldn't be enough as they fell to 7th place. The four medalist for the Rockets were Seniors Trey Ellington (1st), Ryan Anderson (4th), and Kyle Smith (2nd), and Sophmore Zac Sparr finishing second. The Rockets are not as strong as they were last year but they will gain experience as the season progresses. The winner of the Goodwill Tournament was Derby with a total of 143 points. The Rockets scored 85 points to place 7th in the tournament. They Rockets will open their dual season December 13th with a tough matchup at Augusta. |
