Volleyball Loses Heartbreaker
The Rocket Volleyball team had the great privilege to host the 2007 Sub-State. The Tournament included the following teams: Clearwater, Cheney, Andover Central, Mulvane, Douglass, Wellington, and Kingman. The Rockets fired out on their home court Saturday looking to make a statement in 4A Volleyball. The ladies were too much to handle for Kingman winning the quaterfinal match in two games, 25-13 and 25-9. The Rockets would then advance to meet up with Clearwater. The Rockets, who have lost to the Indians twice earlier in the season, looked for revenge as their season was at stake. The Rockets fought, scrapped, and battled the Indians but came up short in both games, ending their season with an overall record of 26-10. |

Rockets Struggle in Districts
The Rocket Football team traveled to Andover to try to regain lost ground in Districts. The Rockets opened the night with a touchdown drive in their opening possession. The Trojans then answered right back with a big play on special teams, running back the kickoff for a Touchdown. The game was back and forth throughout the night with multiple lead changes. The Rockets had some mental mistakes with penalties and costly turnovers that inflicted the final outcome of the game. The Trojans, with the lead in the fourth quarter, gave up ground as the Rockets pushed their way towards the endzone with Tyler Shirley's one yard Touchdown run. The Rockets, with a three point lead late in the fourth, struggled to halt the Andover offense allowing them to score with under a minute left. The Rockets fall to Andover 38-42 but keep their morale alive as there is still hope for a playoff bid. |
