Women Slip by El Dorado
The Lady Rockets came out to a tremendous start against the Wildcats Friday night. The Rockets led El Dorado 18-3 in the first quarter, but they couldn't hold on to the lead. The Ladies gave up numerous unanswered points and let the Wildcats back into the ball game by halftime with the score 24-20. The Rockets struggles scoring continued in the third quarter, being outscored 6-15. With the Rockets down 30-35 going into the fourth quarter, the Lady Rockets decided to kick things into gear. Kristy Herman hit a big three in the fourth to give the Rockets the lead and the victory over the Wildcats. Herman would end with 18 followed by Bates with 12. The Ladies will continue their 6-1 season Tuesday against Augusta. |

Defense Propels Rocket Win
The varsity boys, coming off a three game losing streak, looked to have a new start after the break. The Rockets led most of the game and finished off the first quarter with a 4 point lead. El Dorado was pressured throughout the game with multiple defenses, which led to turnovers and missed shots. The Rockets would capitalize on the Wildcat mistakes and take the lead going into half 19-13. El Dorado would make a run in the third quarter but the Rockets would hold the lead going into the fourth. The final quarter would be all Rose Hill, taking a double-digit lead and finishing the game 43-34. Caleb Brown finished with 14 points, followed by Chase Ozbun with 10. |

Wrestlers finish 11th at Derby
The Wrestlers traveled to Derby last weekend to compete in the Derby Invitational consisting of 16 teams. Leading the tournament was Bishop Carroll finishing with an impressive 244.5 points, followed by Goddard with 190. The Rockets finished with three medalist, those being Sophmore Zac Sparr finishing third along with Kyle Smith and Ryan Anderson taking 4th. The Wrestlers had a tough tournament finishing in the lower half, but will look to recooperate throughout the week and prepare for a dual at El Dorado on Thursday beginning at 6 p.m. |
