Ladies advance to 10-1
The Lady Rocket basketball team had two games over the break, last Friday against the Wellington Crusaders and Monday against the Campus Colts. Against Wellington the Rockets got off to a great start in the opening minutes leading the Crusaders 19-7 in the first quarter. From there it was a coast, as the Rockets headed on to a 64-25 victory. Kristy Herman had 17 points followed by Whitney Bates with 14. The ladies then matched up against Campus in the Mulvane Wildcat Classic Monday night. The Rockets jumped on the Colts early and led 31-8 going into the half. The Rockets have been playing quite well lately and would finish the game winning 61-36 advancing their record to a tremendous 10-1. The ladies will head back to Mulvane Thursday to compete in the semi-finals against Wichita SouthEast. |

Boys End Up Taking 6th
The Rose Hill Boys Varsity basketball team traveled to Halstead one final time to play Inman in the 5th place game. The Rockets trailed by a few early but hung around going into halftime down by 6 points, 16-22. The Rockets came out slow going into the fourth quarter and had trouble scoring, shooting 33% from the field. Blaize Foltz got in foul trouble and had to watch the majority of the game, which would hurt the Rockets inside pressence. Inman led by 13 points in the fourth quarter but the Rockets were not done. Two consecutive three-pointers by Chase Ozbun and lay-ups by Caleb Brown put the Rockets right back in the game, down by 5. The Rocket's comeback would fall short, losing to Inman 48-43. Caleb Brown led scorers with 17 points and Chase Ozbun was voted onto the All-Tournament Team. |
